MLS First Kick - CA Round-Up

MLS's season is up and running and there were several surprising results on the opening weekend of the season. Only three Canadians dressed this past weekend.
Injuries robbed LA of Ante Jazic, he will be out for a couple of months recovering from ankle surgery. They could have used him as his teammates crashed 4:0 at Colorado.
Also injured was the newly acquired Chris Pozniak. A groin strain robbing the versatile Canadian of a chance at a debut for the 'Goats'. They finished 1:1 in a game that against Adrian Serioux and FC Dallas. With several injuries and absentees on both sides, the two sides played out a 1:1 tie in Frisco, TX. Serioux played the full 90 minutes at the heart of the FCD defence. Juan Toja scored for the 'Super Hoops' and Galindo for Chivas USA. Why the Cuban was on the bench was beyond me, but he certainly made his poitn after coming on as a sub.

In the final game involving Canadians, a rematch of the last two MLS Cup finals found Houston visiting New England. The Revs were seemingly intent on revenge as they mauled the two-time defending champs 3:0 despite missing Taylro Twellman who was a late scratch. Both Dwayne De Rosario and Pat Onstad went the full 90 but could do little to overt a New England revenge mission. Onstad looked shaky on a couple of the goals, but finished the day with 10 saves, underlining the dominance of the home side on the day.
So, a fairly in auspicious start for the Maple Leafs in the league (saying nothing of Toronto's 2:0 submission at Columbus). In total the CA accumulated 1 point fromt he opening weekend's slate of games.
